Young Professionals for Oliver Plans Skating Fundraiser for Candidate

Skating for Kelvin event to be held at Rich City Skate

OLYMPIA FIELDS, IL – March 28, 2013 – Young Professionals for Kelvin Oliver will be holding a fundraiser “Skating for Kelvin” for the candidate for Village President of Olympia Fields, at Rich City Skate, 4645 Sauk Trail, Richton Park, IL, Saturday March 30, 2013 from 8:00pm until 11:30pm.

Young Professionals for Kelvin Oliver is a group of educated young people who are committed to the community of Olympia Fields. The group is spearheaded by Kristina Wynne, who holds a B.S. in Biophysics from Chicago State University, and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated; and Noel C. Green who holds a B.S. in Public & Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University; Sabrina Wells, who received her B.A. Degree from Governors State University and currently pursuing a Masters degree in School leadership at Concordia University; and Kristin Oliver, who is armed with a B.S. in Business Administration from Tennessee State.

On supporting Oliver, Wynne said, “I one hundred percent support Kelvin Oliver for Village President of Olympia Fields. He has been a triumph for this community for over twenty years; he has raised his children in this community and served on a plethora of boards and organizations. With his innovative ideas and leadership skills, he is the perfect candidate for Village President.”

Green, in noting his support stated, “We joined Kelvin Oliver’s campaign because we share his vision for Olympia Fields and support his campaign for Village President. Mr. Oliver’s vision includes supporting efforts to improve our local schools and to better prepare students for a global workplace. We believe in Mr. Oliver’s vision for bringing new businesses into our community to keep the dollars at home in our own community.

The “Skating for Kelvin” event will provide the candidate with an opportunity to address the young adults of the area as well as get their feedback to his platform and ideas for the Village. “I am truly impressed with the Young Professionals, the leaders of the future who I want to remain in this area and raise their families in years to come. It is such support that inspires me further in my quest to become the next Village President of Olympia Fields.”

Oliver has received an increasing number [] of support and endorsements over the last few weeks, from residents on his door-to door campaign, parents, concerned citizens and homeowners in addition to his endorsement from community leader Cheryl Monique Coleman, PTO Arcadia/Indiana Elementary Schools, and Rich Township High School District 227 School Board Member.

Kelvin Oliver is an Olympia Fields Village Board Trustee and a youth baseball coach for over fifteen years. He is President of the Matteson-Olympia Fields Baseball (MOF) League for the past ten years, and a member of the Greater South Suburban Baseball League for past five years. He and his wife, Pamela Oliver, have raised three children in Olympia Fields.
